Radio Plymouth spoke to the owner Morgan Phillips to find out more about his plans for the island
The owner of Drake's Island has told Radio Plymouth that making it accessible for everyone is his primary concern.
Morgan Phillips acquired the island last year and has just started allowing people to visit by boat.
Eventually, it will house a heritage and education centre and a hotel.
Morgan is currently teaming up with the National Marine Aquarium and the University of Plymouth to allow students to learn more about the island, its history and wildlife.
