Two Plymouth school cooks make regional heats of competition

    Catherine Deane and Gemma Bestier are among the best school chefs in the region

    Two school chefs from Plymouth have made it to the regional heats of the School Chef of the Year competition. 

    Catherine Deane from Yealmpton Primary School and Gemma Bestier from Manadon Vale will be given 90 minutes to prepare their dishes before presenting them to a panel, for judging. 

    The LACA School Chef of the Year Competition has been going for 20 years and seven cooks from across the region will take part in the heat in Weston-super-Mare today (13th January). 

    The winner from this regional heat will go on to represent the whole of the South West in the national final in March.
