Plymouth Councillor to step down from role

    Kate Taylor, the Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care, has been overlooking the city's response to the pandemic

    A Plymouth councillor has announced she is standing down in May, in order to put her well-being first. 

    Kate Taylor, who is also the Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care, says the coronavirus pandemic has taught her "a great deal" about herself. 

    She has spent the last few months overseeing Plymouth's response to the pandemic.

    Cllr Taylor described the situation as "a huge challenge" and has thanked colleagues for their support. 

    The Labour Party member made the statement on Facebook earlier today (21 July).
