    Plymouth Highways
The Plymouth Highways Term Maintenance Contract commenced on 1 April 2017 and sees the formation of a collaborative working arrangement between Plymouth City Council and SWH, referred to collectively as Plymouth Highways.
    Our activities include:
Routine and reactive maintenance activities including winter maintenance, safety defect repairs, emergency response, gully cleaning and road marking.
Highway improvement schemes including carriageway and footway resurfacing, footway construction, drainage and traffic management
    Surfacing and bridge maintenance
Design services for traffic management, resurfacing, surface dressing, micro asphalt, patching, drainage, footways and Living Streets: SWH works closely with Plymouth City Council in identifying sites suitable and will assist with the preparation of designs and estimates for the work. Early contractor involvement has ensured continual improvement in the efficiency and quality of the end product as well as greater certainty for our Client.

SWH will be providing traffic management for this year’s event, which will see an influx of thousands of people to Plymouth Hoe for the two-day music event.

SWH will be working to ensure the city’s increase in traffic and pedestrian movement runs as smoothly as possible, putting in place a system of road closures and temporary parking restrictions. Advance notification road signs and messages on the electronic display boards around the city will also be in place. SWH and Radio Plymouth will be working together before and during the event to deliver regular traffic information and updates.

SWH is a leading construction services, civil engineering and specialist training business within the South West. With a commitment to the region and a qualified local workforce, SWH offers the entire range of highway services for its clients. From minor works and reactive maintenance through to routine maintenance and major projects, all with a personal approach.
