Tour de Moor
Saddle up for our scenic sponsored cycle, says St Luke’s Hospice
St Luke’s Hospice needs you to saddle up for the ride of your life ahead of their sponsored cycle event on Sunday 9 October.
The upcoming “Tour de Moor,” offers a keen cyclist the opportunity to complete a seven, 15 or 35 mile course, taking in the beauty of Plym Valley Nature Reserve and potentially stretching as far as historic Princetown.
Over 500 people took part in the inaugural event in 2010, raising £40,000 for the local charity. This year the target is to almost double that amount, with 900 riders taking on the challenge.
Events fundraiser James King explained, “We hope this year’s event will really take off, especially when we have added the new 15 mile cycle route. I recently did the course myself so I know every nook and corner and I came away with a real sense of achievement. We always need to look at ways to get support from people right across our community and this event is suited to a wide range of abilities, it’s wheel-y good fun!”
This year’s Tour de Moor is kindly sponsored by local estate agents, Lang & Co.
