I've been working in local radio in the South West for nearly 20 years now and I just love it! There's nothing like getting under the skin of a great city like Plymouth, talking about the things that matter to everyone and playing some great tunes too!
My radio career didn't really start out in a conventional way, more by chance really, I'd done a few shows on Hospital Radio and happened to be making the tea a local radio station in North Devon when the evening presenter turned up ‘a little worse for wear' ... cue my ‘big' break!
Since then I've done several radio jobs including reading the news and presenting breakfast shows on a few radio stations in the South West including Gemini FM and Orchard FM for a total of 12 years and being Programme Controller of Heart Radio in Somerset. I think the most random part of my career so far was when one of my old bosses thought it would be a good idea to do a whole 4 hour breakfast show live from an outdoor swimming pool in November, now I'm not one for complaining but that was 7 years ago and I think I'm still thawing out!
