The Music & Sport Show

We can promise you a PACKED programme!

We are going to major on local sport, but we wont be forgetting the national and even international sports stories.

Sometimes it might be just a headline or a score, other times an Interview or a report... but either way you will know the news, pretty much as it happens!

There'll be features, largely with local people. If there's a team, club or sports person from the Plymouth area that is enjoying national success, we'll be shouting about it from the rooftops! (well the top of the transmitter anyway!)

No matter where you are: home, work or in the car we'll promise you a great mix of music - some  new, some a blast from the past, traffic and car-park news and all the day's sports stories  and scores... with the emphasis on LOCAL!

So if you're in a team or you compete as an individual make sure we KNOW about it, there's no excuse, use us as your mouthpiece to tell people about your success.  So if your daughter has won a dance competition or a gold medal in gymnastics, your son has just scored a hat-trick in his team's cup match, your husband kicked the winning penalty or your wife wiped the competition on the golf course... we want to hear about it!

Marjon's Sports Media students are an integral part of our production team, so we really should be able to offer varied and comprehensive LOCAL sports coverage... which we intend to be unrivalled on the airwaves. It is a bold promise, but we're confident that we'll get there.

There'll be features each week including;

  • Graham Dawe, Albion's Director of Rugby will be LIVE from the touchline just before kick-off for every game and we'll hear from him as the final whistle blows.
  • Pilgrims Progress - Each week we'll have key moments from Argyle's history on this day - and even talk to some of the people involved all those years ago.
  • Car of the Week - Each week we'll be reviewing a new car, road testing it on Plymouth's streets to give you our honest opinion. As a member of the Guild of Motoring Writers, hopefully Gary Champion knows what he's talking about!! We'll look at the car market generally, so you know what is around and deals to be had.

Plymouth students Matt Elver, Lee Renshaw, and Charlie Mason joined Neil Walker in the Saturday Sport Studio, after they smashed a world record, skateboarding for 21 days, and covering 985 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End.

In the process they raised thousands of pounds for the GoGo Trust, which helps families affected by aids in Africa.
