Work continues on campaign to reopen airport

Campaigners hoping to save Plymouth Airport will be in the city centre again today collecting signatures for a petition.

950 people have signed it so far.

The airport closed in December, but the campaign group VIABLE has now set up a company to try and reopen it, which has the backing of some local business leaders and MPs.

There have been preliminary meetings with the council.

Raoul Witherall from VIABLE says they also want to ensure the land at Derriford remains protected, as at the moment nothing can be built on it.
