Water bills to increase

South West water customers could see their bills increase by more than 5 percent from April.

The company's released its domestic and commercial charges for 2011/2012.

The average annual household bill will increase by 5.1% to around £517.

Officials say prices will vary depending on the services customers receive, their tariff and water usage if they're on a meter.

South West Water say they have no choice but to raise bill prices because they'll be investing around £159m on upgrading their services next year.
