Tributes for Plymouth marine killed in Afghanistan

Tributes have been paid to a Plymouth-based royal marine killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday.

Sergeant Barry Weston of 42 Commando was killed by an improvised explosive device, while leading a patrol in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand Province.

The 40 year old leaves behind his wife Joanna and their three daughters Jasmine, Poppy and Rose.

His family say are "devastated" by their loss and paid tribute to a "caring, loving husband and son and a devoted father".

His commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Ewan Murchison has said Segeant Baz Weston was selfless and courageous to the end.
