A new kind of bank will be launched in Stonehouse today......but no money is required.

The time bank allows people to offer their skills in exchange for any help or assistance they may need.

The city council are paying the social enterprise group the zebra collective to set up the initiative.

As an example, a gym could offer a free session in return for meeting space for a conference.

The initiative already exists in other parts of the country and others are proposed for Barne Barton, St Budeaux and Honicknowle.

The time bank launches at the Oasis cafe on Manor Street.
