Thousands watch preliminary America's cup races

There was plenty of drama in Plymouth Sound yesterday afternoon as high winds led to three of the catamarans capsizing in the preliminary races of the America's cup.

French team Aleph, Team Korea and the Spanish boat Green Comm all went over.

Emirates New Zealand are currently top of the leaderboard. US team Oracle Racing Spithill are in seconf, while Artemis Racing are in third place.

Today and tomorrow are rest days for the crews - racing resumes on Wednesday afternoon.

Around twenty thousand people gathered on the Hoe to watch the racing.
