Stress taking its toll on Plymouth teachers

UNions in Plymouth say some of the government's current education policies are short sighted.

This week dozens of local teachers joined the picket lines over proposed pension reforms.

But unions say there are also wider issues which are making the profession less attractive to young people.

More recently the education secretary announced that from 2015, a school will be considered to be failing if less than half of pupils achieve five good GCSE passes.

Unions say they're now dealing with more teachers being signed off with stress.
