South West Water profits up

South West water's pre tax  profits have risen eight and a half per cent to just over seventy six million pounds in the last six months.

The Pennon group revealed its half yearly report this morning - the figures cover the period to the end of September.

Pennon say the company has recorded its best ever water quality results  and that this year was the fifteenth consecutive year without a hosepipe ban.

Customers are still waiting for news on forty million pounds of public money to bring down the region's high bills.

Overall since the start of  2010, South West Water has recorded an operating profit of more than one hundred and seven million pounds.
