South East Cornwall's MP says she's received confirmation from the defence secretary that there are "no plans to close HMS Raleigh".

Sherryl Murray had contacted Liam Fox after rumours resurfaced surrounding the Torpoint base's future.

It's after a confidential navy memo was leaked to a national newspaper.

But Mrs Murray says she has no reason to believe that Dr Fox is trying to deceive her - and that his message is clear in stating that HMS Raleigh will remain the royal navy's premier training establishment in the south west.
