Number of dead remains at seven following M5 pile up in Somerset

Police say all the vehicles involved in Friday night's horrific crash have now been removed from the Northbound carriageway of teh M5 near Taunton.

The number of dead remains at seven despite fears that more bodies would be located overnight.

34 vehicles were involved in the collision on Friday evening, including a number of lorries.

51 people were injured.

The M5 is closed in both directions between Junction 25 and 24 - the road is likely to remain closed here for the rest of the weekend.

 Work is now being carried out to identify those who have died and families are being appointed police liaison officers to support them.
