Second burial site found in double murder trial

A court has heard that a second pit containing possible human remains has been found in the case of two men accused of double murder in Cornwall.

The remains of David Griffiths from Plymouth and Brett Flournoy were found on farmland near St Austell in June last year.

Thomas Haigh and Ross Stone deny their murder, although Stone admits disposing of their bodies.

Yesterday the prosecution said that on the first day of the trial, Stone gave lawyers information which prompted police to return to the site where the remains were found.

The court was told police archaeologists found a second trench containing possible human remains - not all of Griffiths and Flournoy's body parts have been recovered so far.

The trial continues.

That report was filed by the Western Morning News' Petra Mann.
