The results from Devon and Cornwall's summer crack down on drink driving are mixed.

Overall the number of people caught has gone down, but the number of people over the limit after an accident has gone up.

In June, 141 people tested positive following a breath test, down from 209 during the same period last year.

But the number of people testing positive following an accident has gone up from 20 to 49.

Police say while they're pleased the overall number has gone down, one person over the limit is one person too many.

They say just because the main crackdown is over doesn't mean they won't be monitoring drivers, particularly as the busy summer holidays continue.
