Rest of 42 Commando due home soon

The officer in charge of 42 commando has thanked the people of Plymouth for their support during their recent tour of Afghanistan.

One hundred marines flew into Exeter Airport last night, but seven of the company lost their lives during the deployment.

By the end of the week the rest of the batallion will be back in Devon for some well earned leave and they will return to training in the New Year.

42 commando will be amongst those marching through Plymouth on November 11th - Lieutenant Colonel Ewan Murchison has said local support means a lot to them.
