Residents near incinerator site still angry at plans

Plymothians living near the proposed site for a waste incinerator say they won't back down.

Many are angry that MVV have chosen to build the plant at Devonport dockyard - and say other sites or other means of waste disposal such as anaerobic digestion would be better.

MVV have now submitted their planning application and are holding another series of public exhibitions.

Campaigners say they're still worried about the impact the incinerator could have on their lives.

But director of MVV Paul Carey says residents shouldn't be concerned about any impact on their health, or an increase in traffic.

He's confident once they've had time to read through the 3000 page planning application, they'll be reassured.
