Reduction in free parking at Derriford hospital to be considered

The amount of time people can park for free at Derriford hospital should be reduced because the system is being abused, according to a report being considered today.

The city council's health scrutiny committee will look at the recommendations from the hospital today, which include reducing free parking tickets from 45 minutes to 15.

The hospital says its income has fallen by ten thousand pounds since the 45 minute ticket was introduced.

Other proposals include making it clearer which car parks have spaces and introducing more disabled bays.
