Police join demonstrations over pay

Dozens of Devon police officers are joining a protest in Westminster today over their pay and conditions.

The police federation are protesting against recommendations from the recent Windsor report which could see forty per cent of officers asked to take a pay cut.

They claim junior officers in Devon and Cornwall could see their pay cut by up to £4000 a year.

There are also proposals to raise the retirement age from 55 to 60 and to introduce regular fitness tests.
