More than 100 jobs have been lost at a Devon based building firm after going into administration.

Beale and Co provides building services and electrical engineers operating from three sites across the county with offices in Plymouth, Exeter and Yeovil.

Following an unsuccessful attempt to sell the business over the last few weeks, the majority of the business has now seized trading, with 118 staff members made redundant.

Administrative receiver BDO has confirmed that following further negotiations during the last few days with Integral UK Holdings Ltd - a nationwide maintenance service company - the firms service and maintenance side of the business has been sold saving 22 jobs.

Business Restructuring Director for BDO, Mark Roach says 'unfortunately the economic climate and difficult trading conditions has significantly affected the company'.

Those who've lost their jobs have been made redundant with immediate effect.
