Thousands of Plymouth parents are likely to have to make alternative arrangements for their children next Thursday as teachers prepare to strike.

The NUT and ATL are taking part in a national walkout.

At the moment it looks as though most Plymouth schools will be affected, although the impact is likely to be greater on secondary schools.

Unions say they still can't be entirely sure how many teachers will join the picket line..and further talks are planned with the government on Monday.

The row is over proposed cuts to pensions.
