Plymouth man denies sexually assaulting two children as a teenager

A Plymouth man has denied repeatedly sexually assaulting two children when he was a teenager.

49 year old Gary Hendy from Mount Gould, is accused of 16  sexual offences against a boy and a girl, dating back to the 1970s and 80s.

The boy and the girl, who are now adults, gave evidence in court yesterday - they cannot be named for legal reasons.

The man told Plymouth crown court that when the first assault happened, he didn't really understand what was going on and that it continued for many years.

The woman said that she had told her Mum about the assaults, but she didn't believe her.

The trial continues - that report was filed by the Herald's Carl Eve.
