The average house price in Plymouth is around one hundred and fifty thousand pounds, according to a local estate agent.

A nationwide report last week suggested that was slightly below the national average, which stood at around one hundred and sixty seven thousand pounds.

Swift estate agents in Mannamead say sales are up around five per cent on the same time last year.

Nick Swift says there are still challenges for first time buyers though, as they need a deposit of twenty or twenty-five percent to make the purchase more affordable.
