Plymouth-based marine killed in Afghanistan repatriated

The body of a Plymouth-based royal marine killed in Afghanistan is due to arrive at RAF Lyneham later.

Nineteen year old Nigel Dean Mead of 42 commando was killed by an improvised explosive device on Sunday.

He'd been searching a compound believed to have been run by insurgents in Helmand Province.

Dean's family have paid tribute to him - his mum describing him as 'one in a hundred million'.

His uncle Nigel, who is an ex-marine, says he was experienced and would've know about the risks involved.
