Plymouth Argyle to be demoted

After months of turmoil, Plymouth Argyle have been relegated from league one.

The search for a new owner continues, after the club went into administration - so far the only confirmed bid is from Devon businessman James Brent.

Administrators will meet with the club's creditors on Friday, when they'll vote on whether to pass a CVA, which would mean they would get less than one pence for every pound they are owed.

The Pilgrims needed three points to keep alive any chance of staying in league one, but yesterday's clash with Southampton saw Argyle go down 3-1 and sealed their fate of relegation.

But manager Peter Reid has praised the players who he says have given everything, despite not being paid since January.
