Devon and Cornwall Police say they are investigating attempts to use social networking sites to organise riots in Plymouth.

It comes after another night of riots in England's towns and cities - though there were no significant problems here.

Plans were put in place across the force area last night to deal with any public order offences in the two counties.

Officers have also been visiting local business owners to address any concerns they may have and make sure they feel reassured.

Police say anyone who tries to cause disruption will be caught and punished.
