A state-of the-art training facility is being unveiled at Devonport naval base today.

Plymouth and Fareham in Hampshire will be joined by a fibre optic link.

Both sites will use banks of flat panel TV screen tos help trainees by representing faithfully equipment used at sea.

It will allow new recruits to train to work on type 23 frigates, type 42 destroyers and assault ships.
