New church opened by Argyle chaplain

A pastor due to start work as one of Plymouth Argyle's chaplains in the next few weeks, is launching a new church today.

The Plymouth Vineyard centre will be opened by local MP Gary Streeter this morning.

The Vineyard church is a Christian movement which began in America in the 1980s - they also run community and outreach groups.

Arthur Goode, who is due to meet with some Argyle staff next week, says they'll  be trying to help the city's more deprived families.

The centre is based at Kinterbury house on Kinterbury street.
