MP puts pressure on hospital over care of patient with dementia

A Plymouth MP has pledged to raise the issue of a dementia patient who apparently had 'do not resuscitate' put on her notes, in Parliament.

Lee Finn claims that this happened to his Mum Patricia at Derriford hospital without his knowledge - she was being treated for two infections.

Mr Finn has written repeatedly to Derriford hospital to find out where they are with their investigations and has submitted a freedom of information request asking how often this happens to patients.

He has received no reply and neither has Plymouth Moorview MP Alison Seabeck.

She says even an interim response would have been useful so that they knew that something is happening behind the scenes.

The Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust has refused to comment.
