More than 50 jobs could go at City College Plymouth

It has been confirmed that more than 50 jobs could be at risk at City College Plymouth.

The budgets for post 19 education were slashed during the recent emergency budget and colleges around the country are making redundancies.

There are 53 posts at risk although the college says it hopes only around 25 people will have to be made redundant.

Both management and frontline teaching posts are affected and college bosses have already met with staff and trade unions.

City college has lost around one point two million pounds from its budget as a result of the cuts, but says most of its courses will run as normal in September.

Any  concerned students can call the college on 305300.
