Merging the two Plymouth Land Registry offices will cause huge job losses

Union officials in Plymouth are still urging the land registry to make sure they're involved in plans to merge the two city offices.

It was announced back in March that Plumer House would be merged with Seaton Court as part of a number of cuts to the sector, which could result in around 150 job losses nationwide.

Unions say management have set up a local board to discuss the future but that they haven't been consulted as yet.

Last week the coalition government wrote to every public sector worker following the budget to ask them where they felt cuts should be made.

Dave Franklin from the PCS union in Plymouth says the government isn't being honest with workers.
