Mayday tradition to be celebrated in South East Cornwall today

A historic tradition has been revived in South East Cornwall for a special May day festival.

The Black Prince Flower boat procession involves carrying the boat through the villages of Millbrook, Kingsand and Cawsand.

It dates back to the 19th century and welcomes in the spring.

The boat is carried by sailors from HMS Raleigh and there are traditional maypole dances.

Any money raised will then go towards supporting local RNLI crews

The procession begins at Millbrook at 10.30 am.
