Marine killed in Afghanistan to be laid to rest

The funeral of a Plymouth-based royal marine will take place in today.

Ollie Augustin and his colleague Sam Alexander, from 42 Commando, were killed by an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Afghanistan.

Lieutenant Augustin was leading the patrol in the Nad'Ali district of Helmand Province when the two died on 27th May.

His funeral will be held today in Kent, where he grew up.

The 23 year old's parents have paid tribute to their 'much loved and cherished son' while his sister Sarah has described him as 'one in a million'.

Marine Alexander's funeral will take place tomorrow in Plymouth.
