Marine killed in Afghanistan laid to rest

The funeral of a Plymouth-based Royal Marine killed in Afghanistan will take place in Weymouth this afternoon.

Marine James Wright died after a grenade was thrown into his check point in the Nad-e Ali district of Helmand Province.

The 22 year old was due to become a father - his family say he and his long term partner Shelley were looking forward to becoming parents.

Marine Wright is the fifth member of Bickleigh-based 42 Commando to be killed during this deployment.

He'll be laid to rest in Weymouth, where he grew up, this afternoon.
