Officials hoping to open a free school in St Budeaux are holding an information evening tonight.

Marine Academy Plymouth want to build a primary school on their campus, in response to the city's shortage of primary school places.

Free schools are outside local authority control and are funded directly by the government - they can also choose their own curriculum.

But the city council would be one of the school's sponsors - as well as Plymouth University and Cornwall College.

The drop in event starts at 6pm at the Marine Academy.
