Man says he's been waiting too long for details about his mother's medical care

A Plymouth man who claims his Mother had 'Do Not Resuscitate' put on her medical notes without his knowledge says he has been kept waiting for months for information about her case.

82 year old Patricia Finn was admitted to Derriford hospital in December suffering from two infections - she also has dementia and is now in a nursing home.

Her son claims they later discovered that staff had been instructed not to resuscitate her in the event of a cardiac arrest.

He submitted a freedom of information request to the hospital on March 5th for details on how often this happens but has heard nothing back.

According to the directgov website, people should get a response within 20 days.

Lee says he is still awaiting the result of his formal complaint too - he says his family should have been consulted because they knew about his mum's condition and the medication she was on.

Plymouth MP Alison Seabeck has also written to Derriford hospital but says she has not received a response.

Derriford Hospital say they are unable to comment at this time as investigations are still ongoing.
