Man dies following serious accident near Callington

A man has died following a fatal crash in Callington over the weekend, while a woman and three children were taken to hospital yesterday following a crash in Launceston.

A 68 year old man was airlifted to hospital on Saturday lunchtime after his blue mazda MX5 sports car collided with a ford silver x max on the A390 between Liskeard and Callington.

He later died at Derriford hospital, while his 59 year old partner is being treated for multiple fractures.

The family from New Zealand in the other car suffered only minor injuries.

The man's next of kin have been informed - he is likely to be named today.

Meanwhile three children and a woman have been taken to Treliske hospital following an accident near Launceston yesterday afternoon.

A stretch of the A30 near Palmers Bridge was closed for around five hours after a green vauxhall zafira overturned - no other vehicles were involved.

It's not clear how serious their injuries were.
