University and college lecturers across Plymouth are in strike action today over pensions and pay.

The government recently announced that pensions could be based on average salary instead of final salary in future.

Staff at the university, Marjon, city college Plymouth and the art college are all taking part.

They've also been offered a 0.2% pay increase, which amounts to around fifty pounds but unions say that's infact a pay cut as their monthly pension contributions would go up too.
