Labour support Viable's plans to reopen airport

Plymouth's new city council leader has said he supports a campaign group's plans to reopen the airport.

Viable argues with a longer runway and improved facilities, the site could operate commercially again.

Labour took control of the city council  in Thursday's elections and say they would like the plans to succeed.

The Conservatives have said leaseholders Sutton Harbour Holdings closed the airport and no the city council, but that there wasn't enough evidence that it was commercially viable.

Labour say they have met with Viable and hope their plans succeed.
