Inquest rules Marine's death was suicide

A verdict of suicide has been recorded following an inquest into the death of a Plymouth based Royal Marine.

28 year old Dylan Kemp from 42 commando was found dead at his flat in September 2009.

The coroner told the inquest he was satisfied that the Royal Marines did all they could to support the troops.

Marine Kemp's girlfriend Philippa Roscoe had told the inquest that he had been asked to bag up human body parts in Afghanistan, but 42 commando said this was not the case.

Coroner Roy Palmer accepted the evidence of 42 commando.

Marine Kemp left a note at his flat in Croydon saying that he had too much anger inside him - he added that royal marine staff were excellent but that he had slipped through the net.

Solicitors for Marine Kemp's mother say she is taking legal advice to highlight the failings of the system.

She added that she doesn't feel her son had enough debriefing or support after his time in the combat zone.

Yesterday a pathologist had said Marine Kemp's injuries were consistent with hanging.
