Campaigners say they still believe they can halt plans for a waste incinerator in Devonport.

The group 'incineration is wrong' will gather in St Budeaux tonight to choose a chair and secretary.

MVV still needs to submit a planning application for the site at North Yard and protesters say they've been told by the environment agency that it isn't a done deal.

Viridor also want to build a site for commercial waste at Lee Mill.

Campaigners want the waste partnership to increase recycling rates and consider other technologies like anaerobic digestion instead.

The meeting's at the St Budeaux community centre at 7pm on Tuesday 22nd March.
