Group walks to raise money for those struggling with mental illness

A Plymouth group set up to help people with depression will take part in a charity walk today.

The 'Go the extra mile' project aims to encourage people to walk, run or even skip a mile to raise awareness of the fact that one in five people will suffer from depression at some point in their lives.

Husband and wife Dom and Jayne set up the Blurt Foundation in 2011 afte Jayne's battle with the illness.

They take on mentors who have suffered from depression themselves, who can offer support and be in regular email contact with anyone who needs help.

The money raised will go towards paying for the CRB checks for their volunteers.
