Funeral of Plymouth soldier to take place

Plymothians are expected to gather to pay their respects as another local soldier is laid to rest.

A full military funeral will be held this lunchtime for Corporal Mark Palin, who was killed by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan on July 18th.

The service will be held at St Andrews minster and led by the reverend Nick Mckinnel and the padre of 1st batallion the rifles, Reverend Joe Rooney.

It's only a few weeks since Marine Sam Alexander's funeral at the same church - he died in Afghanistan in May.
