Environment Agency looks into incinerator proposals

Another public consultation's been launched into the proposed waste incinerator at Devonport dockyard - but this time by the environment agency.

They have to decide whether or not to grant the facility an environmental permit - without one it can't operate.

MVV's proposal will have to meet a number of criteria, including not exceeding the emission limits and how the plant will be energy efficient.

Many residents have expressed concerns about the health and environmental impact of the incinerator.

Meanwhile, MVV have been asked to give Plymouth city council more information about their planning application.

The council want more details on the consideration of other sites and the potential impact on noise and air quality.

MVV say they're working on getting that information together as quickly as possible.
