Drink driving still 'persistent problem' in Plymouth

Over the last year, there were more than 400 arrests in Plymouth for drink driving.

The figures cover the period between November 2010 and October this year and show an increase of around 30 on the previous year.

As officers continue their Christmas crack down on drink driving, they're warning locals that many people are caught the day after a night out.

Some campaigners have argued that drivers under 25 shouldn't be able to drink at all when they drive.

But PC Ian Tanner works with those on drink drive rehabilitation courses and says he doesn't think that would help as it's a problem in all age groups.
