Diver shares story of possible Lord Nelson find

A diving instructor who may have found the sword belonging to Nelson himself says it will be some time before it can be brought to the surface.

Mark Ellyatt discovered a number of items thought to belong to the naval hero on the wreck of HMS Victoria off Lebanon.

The captain is understood to have bought them at auction in the Mid Victorian era, when Nelson was not as popular - many of the items are marked HMS Victory.

They're unlikely to be brought to the surface any time soon because of the conflict in Syria but Mark will discuss his finds at the international shipwreck conference at Plymouth University today. His talk starts at 10am.
