Court hears Thomas Haigh threatened to shoot Plymouth drug dealer three weeks before alleged crime

A court's heard that three weeks before a Plymouth drug dealer was killed, one of his alleged murderers said he was going to shoot him.

David Griffiths and fellow drug dealer Brett Flournoy were found burned and buried in a field near St Austell in June last year.

Thomas Haigh and Ross Stone are both charged with their murder - they deny the charges.

Stone does admit burning their bodies and burying them inside their van though.

Yesterday Truro Crown Court heard evidence from Haigh's ex girlfriend and mother of his son Roisin Doherty via videolink.

She told the court, Stone had told Haigh in a phone conversation 3 weeks before the men were murdered that he was going to get a gun and shoot Mr Griffiths.

Ms Doherty was asked why she didn't mention this telephone conversation in her first police interview last July - but had done in a second statement in October.

She told the court she had a lot going on at the time and had forgotten to mention it.

The trial continues.

That report was filed by Petra Mann at the Western Morning News.
